09/03/23Progress on our Giant Test Loop We are making steady progress with our long awaited test loop/play trains loop largely thanks to new member Brian who has been working hard on this project over the last three weeks. Our plan is for the layout which is approximately 25ft by 10 ft in size to have four running loops. There will be two each in both N and 00 scales with one of each being wired for DC and DCC working. We will leave provision for a possible O gauge loop to be added in the future. The idea is that members and guests can bring along their locomotives/stock for a good old run around on what will be a large circuit allowing long trains. The baseboards, see photo below, are nearing completion so we hope to start track laying in the near future.

It will simply consist of 4 loops (2 in N Gauge and one each in 00 and O) and be wired for both DC and DCC operation. The idea being that members will be able to run long trains in any of the major scales. Further details as the scheme progresses over the coming weeks.

04/02/22 Changes to Lyskerris (N Gauge)
In order to improve running several points have been removed from a corner of Lyskerris (one of our N gauge layouts). Effectively this leaves a disused area with tracks still in situ. The scenery in that area will be modified in the next week or so. Before and after photos below :
01/02/22 An update on one of the most recent layouts to be started at the club
This is part of the layout currently being constructed by Club Treasurer Steve Miller. As yet un-named, it will be a representation of a fictional Welsh coastal branch line scene in O Scale. Measuring a whopping 29ft by 2ft it will be one of the largest layouts at the club. It's certainly looking impressive so far so we look forward to seeing it develop over the coming months.
